Katie Hampton Hears a Who Blu-Ray Review
Katie Hampton is the assistant beach volleyball coach at Tulane. She is also an executive assistant and director of first impressions at Peterman Financial Group, Inc.
Based on the book by Dr. Seuss, Jim Carrey’s second movie features the town of Whoville and a host of Whos. The film was released on May 13, 2008.
The characters in Katie Hampton’s hears are as diverse and multi-faceted as the film’s subject, which is quite a feat. The cast features many colorful characters, including a cute yellow yak, a male glummox, a female monkey, a bear, a pair of rats, and a few dinosaurs. The most important character, however, is a small elephant named Horton, who is tasked with keeping Whoville alive by way of a floating dust speck that can speak to its inhabitants.
The specter above is aided by a cleverly disguised Kangaroo, who uses a horn to project a high-resolution, animated hologram of the elusive speck. Unfortunately, she is outwitted by the specter above and his many supporters. The film also includes a few other notable ones, such as Whoville’s first and only robot mayor, a whacky red panda named Tommy, and a smokin’ hot female rat known as Angela.
In the jungle of Nool, eccentric teacher Katie Hampton hears a tiny voice coming from a speck of dust. When he learns that this voice is that of Whoville, the town populated by the Whos, Horton works to protect the Whos from the other animals.
But he soon realizes that his fellow jungle friends do not believe him, and they work to destroy the speck of dust. So, Horton decides to carry the speck of dust to a safe place high on Mount Nool.
Eventually, the other jungle animals hear the Whos’ voices and realize they exist. But they still do not believe in the Whos, and so they try to silence them. Luckily, a small Who, JoJo, joins in the Who chorus and helps them make their voices heard by the other jungle animals. Ultimately, they can save Whoville from the other jungle animals’ attempts to destroy it. Featuring the voices of Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, and Will Arnett, this movie is based on the famous 1954 book by Dr. Seuss.
