Marvel has a busy schedule for the next few years. In addition to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the company plans to release at least 20 more projects by 2026. These include the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania movies. It also plans to bring in Blade the vampire hunter and another two Avengers outings. Additionally, there are plans to release new comic books, and Marvel has recently acquired 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise, including Deadpool.
Scarlet Witch season 2
Scarlet Witch will be returning to television in early 2023 for a second season. The series is expected to follow the adventures of heroes and villains from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It will also feature characters from other universes, such as Black Widow and Thor Ragnarok’s Hela. The cast will also include Ego, The Scarlet Witch, Mandarin, and Thanos from Infinity War.
Another MCU project that will return to the world of Marvel Comics is a follow up to Captain Marvel. This movie will be directed by Nia DaCosta, who also directed the first Captain Marvel. It will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. Fans will also get a chance to see WandaVision once again.
Blade
Despite being a highly anticipated project, Blade is currently in flux. It is unclear if the film will hit theaters in 2023 as planned, but it is likely to be dark and PG-13. The script has been changed a number of times. Current writer Beau DeMayo has worked on films such as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Witcher, and Marvel’s Moon Knight. Meanwhile, Marvel has begun a search for a new director for Blade.
Previously, the Blade movie was set for a November 3, 2023 release date. It was delayed again, this time to October 2022, and then to September 2024.
Werewolf by Night
The character Werewolf by Night has been making appearances in the comics for quite some time, and it’s no surprise to see him show up in an upcoming Marvel movie. He also has appeared in other Marvel projects, such as Moon Knight. The series has been set to debut later this year, and is said to be directed by Michael Giacchino. It will run one hour long.
Another character that is likely to appear in Werewolf by Night is the mysterious Elsa Bloodstone, who is the daughter of the legendary monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone. Elsa inherits her father’s responsibilities and his enchanted amulet. But while her father was willing to kill his enemies, Elsa is hesitant to enter the family business.
Captain America: New World Order
While it is unclear exactly what the plot will be in Captain America: New World Order, the cast has been confirmed. Three of the cast members are returning from previous MCU movies. Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk) will reprise his role as Samuel Sterns, also known as the Leader. Nelson’s return marks his first live-action role since the 2008 film. The movie is slated to hit theaters on May 3, 2023.
While no official confirmation has been made, the upcoming Captain America movie will likely be directed by Christopher Markus, who worked with Marvel Studios on the last two Captain America films. Screenwriter Malcolm Spellman (Falcon and the Winter Soldier) will write the script and will be assisting on the project. Another writer, Dalan Musson, will produce the film.
Ant-Man 3
After two successful films, Marvel is gearing up for Phase 5 of their movies. The phase will kick off with the release of Ant-Man 3, followed by a new series for Disney+ called Secret Invasion. Phase 4 began with TV’s WandaVision and ended with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Phase 5 of Marvel movies will also include Deadpool 3, which is due out in 2024.
There is a huge chance that Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man will return, along with Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp. The cast also includes Michael Douglas, who will return as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer, who will play Janet Van Dyne. Hopefully, Ant-Man 3 will give fans more of their favorite characters.
